Why Subscribe?
Why Subscribe?
Short answer: you don’t have to.
Longer answer: if you want to stay informed about drops, access opportunities, tier status, discounts, and what’s happening inside the Gutter Brudderz ecosystem, email is how that information moves.
Without it, some of that communication just doesn’t reach you.
This page explains how the three systems work, why they’re separate, and what subscribing actually does and doesn’t do.
You Can Still Shop Without Subscribing
Browsing the catalog, placing orders, and buying products does not require a mailing list subscription.
You can shop, check out, and go about your life with zero emails from us.
No pressure.
No guilt.
The store works either way.
Subscribing becomes relevant when you want more than just the ability to purchase.
It matters when you want to know what’s dropping, when access windows open, what your tier status is, and when something in the program changes that affects you.
One Thing to Know: Double Opt-In
When you subscribe, you’ll receive a confirmation email.
You need to click that confirmation to complete the process.
That’s it.
Two steps, done.
This process is called double opt-in, and it exists for two reasons.
First, it keeps the list clean.
Bots, typos, and accidental signups don’t make it through a confirmation step.
That means the list stays healthy, deliverability stays high, and actual announcements reach actual people.
Second, it confirms your intent.
You signed up, then you confirmed it.
That’s a cleaner record for everyone involved.
If you subscribe and don’t see the confirmation email, check your spam or promotions folder.
It should arrive promptly.
No confirmation means no subscription, so that step matters.
You can unsubscribe any time you want.
Every email includes an unsubscribe option.
No hoops.
No guilt.
No “are you sure?” obstacle course.
The Three Systems Are Separate
This is the part worth understanding clearly, because the three systems that make up the Gutter Brudderz customer experience are not the same thing and do not automatically connect to each other.
A Shopify Account is your store account.
Rewards is the loyalty points program.
The Mailing List is the email communication layer of our Insider Program.
Each one does something different.
Joining one does not automatically activate the others.
Shopify Account
A Shopify account is your customer account with the store.
It lets you log in, view order history, manage your details, and interact with standard store functions.
What it is not:
It is not a mailing list subscription.
It is not a Rewards enrollment.
It does not make you an Insider.
It does not sign you up for email announcements.
Creating a Shopify account and subscribing to marketing emails are two separate actions.
One does not replace the other.
Rewards
Rewards are handled through the Essential Loyalty program.
This is the points and perks side of the ecosystem: earning points on purchases, redeeming discounts, and accessing loyalty benefits.
What Rewards is not:
It is not a Shopify account.
It is not the same as Insider status.
Joining Rewards does not automatically subscribe you to the mailing list.
Rewards are mainly about points and savings.
It does its own thing, on its own track.
Insider Program / Mailing List
The mailing list is the communication layer.
This is where Gutter Brudderz sends drop announcements, early or reserved access notices, tier status updates, release information, and customer program notices.
Insider status and email subscription are related, but they serve different functions.
A customer may qualify for something based on purchasing behavior or program rules, but email is how we can actually notify you and deliver certain benefits.
Without a subscription, that communication has nowhere to go.
What subscribing does not automatically do:
It does not create a Shopify account.
It does not enroll you in Rewards.
It does not guarantee status within the Insider Program.
It does not guarantee reserved access to anything.
Subscribing puts you in the lane.
Eligibility is still determined by program rules.
What Email Is Used For
When something matters, email is how it gets to you.
Specifically:
Insider Program drop announcements, when new products, collections, or limited runs go live.
Early or reserved access notices, when applicable, based on program eligibility.
Tier status updates, so you know where you stand in the program.
Certain discount deliveries, because some offers are distributed through email directly.
Release announcements, including product availability, new variants, and catalog updates.
Customer program notices, including changes, updates, or information relevant to your participation.
Important store or policy updates, when something changes that affects how the store operates.
Social media posts get buried.
Account dashboards don’t notify you.
Email is the direct line.
What Subscribing Does Not Do
To be straightforward about it:
Subscribing does not force you to buy anything.
It does not create a Shopify account on its own.
It does not enroll you in Rewards on its own.
It does not automatically grant status within the Insider Program.
It does not guarantee reserved access to drops.
It does not guarantee discounts.
It does not override eligibility rules for any program.
It does not replace the functions of your account or Rewards membership.
Subscribing means you receive the communication.
What you’re eligible for is determined separately.
The Bottom Line
You can shop at Gutter Brudderz without ever subscribing.
The store is open, the catalog is available, and nothing about the checkout process requires it.
But the mailing list is how Insider Program drop announcements move.
It’s how tier updates get delivered.
It’s how certain discounts reach you.
It’s how you stay informed about what’s happening in the ecosystem instead of finding out after the fact.
Three systems.
Three separate functions.
The list stays clean because of double opt-in, and you’re free to leave it whenever you want.
If you want the full picture, email is the lane that carries most of it.
